Michelle Covey
Vice President of Commercialization, GS1 US

Michelle Covey is the Vice President of Commercialization at GS1 US, where she oversees delivery of programs and services designed to support efficient and accurate GS1 Standards implementation for companies of all sizes.

Previously, Ms. Covey held multiple executive roles at GS1 US leveraging her more than 20 years of retail supply chain experience. Most recently, she was Vice President, Partnerships where she oversaw all external partner relationships and Vice President, Retail Apparel and General Merchandise where she led the GS1 US Apparel and General Merchandise Initiative, helping retail companies achieve source to store supply chain visibility through the application of GS1 Standards. She was also Vice President of Advisory Services, responsible for implementing tailored service strategies to help organizations improve data quality, standards implementation and supply chain efficiencies

Prior to joining GS1 US, Ms. Covey was the product manager for a portfolio of B2B retail products at GXS (now OpenText) where she defined the strategy and requirements to improve supply chain efficiencies. She was also a trainer and software installer at DMSi, a software company focusing on lumber and housing products, delivering functionality for B2B and distribution automation.

Ms. Covey is a frequent speaker at industry events on a range of topics including unique product identification, RFID, image and attributes standards, and industry best practices at venues such as ShopTalk, Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) Edge, and Retail Value Chain Federation (RVCF) conferences. She has also achieved Project Management Professional Certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI). Ms. Covey earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California at Davis.
